OpenSea Employee Found Insider NFT Trading
Head of Product Development at the OpenSea has been exposed for conducting insider trading of NFTs that are available on the world’s largest NFT marketplace.
Chastain was exposed by a Twitter user after on-chain data suggested that he was using “secret wallets” and confidential information to buy NFTs prior to them being promoted on the homepage, sold them, and then returned it to his public address.
Data from BlockBeas suggest the Chastain repeated it on multiple occasions and made at least 19 ETH (about $65,000).
Immutable raises $60M for its carbon-conscious NFT platform
Layer-two NFT protocol Immutable has raised $60 million in a Series B funding round from top-tier corporate venture firms including Gary Vaynerchuk’s VaynerFund.
The amount will be used to support Immutable’s operations, including an expansion of its global engineering and sales departments, growing industry partnerships, and scaling its own native NFT gaming projects.
Through Immutable X, its blockchain protocol for NFTs, the platform supported the launch of Gods Unchained, one of the first blockchain-based trading card games.
Utilizing the zero-knowledge proofs, Immutable plans on having a protocol that offsets its carbon footprint by building both mint and trading activity into a compressed validity proof to reupload to the blockchain.
Miss Universe Thailand, NFTs join in world first
Next month, Bitkub, a Bangkok-based crypto exchange, will be minting NFT cards of Miss Universe Thailand 2021 participants as part of the competition, making the event the first NFT beauty pageant.
Participants will get access to Bitkub educational material, and the winner will receive NFTs that will feature on the NFT game, ‘Morning Moon Village.’
